Organization of first aid

The photo shows a first aid kit standing on the floor, with a person squatting behind it, whose two hands are opening the lid of the kit.

Every company is obliged to provide the necessary equipment and material resources as well as the necessary personnel for first aid and rescue from danger.

(§ 24 DGUV Regulation 1 Principles of Prevention).

How do I organize the training of employees as company first aiders?

  1. Determine the required number of first aiders.
  2. Informing employees to encourage them to take part in first aider training.
  3. Creating the list of names of participants in the first aid course.
  4. Clarify with the training center whether an in-house course is possible.
  5. Clarification of the assumption of costs with the employers' liability insurance association.
  6. Informing potential participants about the specific course of the training.
  7. Obtain the participant's signature for the settlement form.
  8. Send participants to the course with a signed billing form.
